It’s Donna here with the first post this month! For October, the challenge theme is “Sew Crafty”. It can be hand-stitching or machine stitching. We just want to see how you incorporate this technique into your project.
This is my first time to setup, see and hold a TN in person! ha! So, please bear with me as I familiarize myself with this system.
So anyways, below is a short step-by-step tutorial of this “attempt”.
I fussy cut the small floral pattern in one of the papers in the Rose Quarts 6×6 paper pad. I will decorate the front cover of this notebook insert included in the TN once you purchase one.
Before adhering this journaling spot, I punched holes around first and hand-stitched it later on.
I also hand-stitched the word “create” to be added later on to one of the pages in the notebook insert.
I used the Rose Quarts flowers to make some handmade paper clips. I backed the clips with felt. I strongly suggest using a very strong adhesive so it won’t fall off later on.
Lastly, I also used these embellishment backings into a bookmark! I just trimmed the excess and adhered both pieces together. I decorated with washi tapes and die cuts from the ephemera pack. Super easy!
Here is how my TN looked like after.
I loved filling up these pockets with fussy cut journaling cards and whatnots. I splattered watered-down metallique acrylic paint and some watercolors as well.
I remembered I have a Julie Nutting stamp so I used that here as well. She’s so pretty with a pink hair!
After stitching around the word “create”, I used a black watercolor and colored inside the word.
This is the bookmark that I mentioned earlier. I just added a satin ribbon and one of the bow charms to complete it.
I hope you liked my project for today!
