It’s Zeny here with you again, and I wanna say Hello! from the Philippines. It always feels good to be home. They say that the magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, but it feels even better to come. That one thing we all can agree, right?
This blog post is all about Planning that incorporates some inspirations from Pinterest — my take on this month’s theme “Inspired by Pinterest”. You have until the end of July 2017 to participate and get a chance at winning a prize pack worth AED50.
Although our vacation is almost over, I’d say that our month-long stay here is well spent. Thanks to the power of planning. I love to plan things out — in a creative way, it helps me to manage my time and reduce stress. It gives me confidence in achieving my goals. Because of such busy schedules and never-ending tasks, it is really important to stay organized. Not to mention the joy it gives me, and the much needed me-time after a long day at work to introspect and self-reflect.
For this project, I used my Mini Happy Planner Hello Life by Me & My Big Ideas. I am amazed by the design and quality of this planner, the paper thickness is exceptional. I normally do weekly plans, but for this project I’ll be showing you how I decorated the whole month of July using my ‘July DT kit’ as shown in below image. All materials are linked down below.
My desk is always this messy when I’m decorating my planner. I call it a beautiful mess.
There are different styles of planning such as functional planning, glam planning, bullet journaling, art journaling and bible journaling. I am more into an Eclectic approach, I combine different styles of planning. I add a little glam into functional planning and incorporate basic bullet journaling, and at the same time memory keeping by infusing art on it. You can use any method, whatever works best for you.
Clear stamps and inks, stickers, washi tapes and ephemera are on the top of my list when it comes to decorating my planners. They make my layouts more functional and enticing. I use them to highlight important events and tasks.
I always apply Modern Calligraphy on my layouts. I used my Tombow Fudenosuke Brush pen for this project, which is available in PPSUAE store. Lettering these inspiring quotes makes every layout more personalized.
Here’s an overview of the decorated monthly spread. I love the elegance and versatility of Altenew stamps. I colored them with the watercolor I got from last month’s DT kit.
I also letter inspiring words then emboss them using my Embossing powder and Heat gun to create my own ephemera.
I love to paint floral on my layouts. I used the Prima Marketing Watercolor Confections (The Classics) for this layout and once again lettered some inspirational quotes with my brush pen.
And that’s all from me today! I hope you enjoyed reading and I can’t wait to share with you more of my creations!
I would like to leave you with one of my favorite quotes.
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not to people or things.” – Albert Einstein
